I. Class Description:
- Number of students: 39
- Age: 15
- Level: elementary
II. Date and Time:
- Saturday, November 11
- Duration: 45 minutes

- After this lesson, Ss can express agreements and
disagreements
- Know some ways to give opinions

- Be fluent with some agreement/ disagreement
structures
- Use some ways to express ideas

- Improve speaking skill
- Improve interaction competence with other members
in groups

- Text- book, projector, chalk, board
V. Procedure



Teacher’s Activities
Warm- up
(5 minutes)

• Greet Ss
• Warm Ss up

- Show a picture( Titanic ship)
and the seat plan of a boat
- Ask Ss to answer
(Do you know the name of this
boat/ship? RMS Titanic ; and
which film does it have? Titanic;
Do you want to travel by this
ship?)
- Introduce to Ss a picture of the
seat plan of a ship and its section
• Lead to the lesson

I, Prespeaking
(10 minutes)

• Talk about the picture of

Lake Michigan in Chicago
(It’s beautiful and modern
because it has many high
buildings and skyscrapers)
• Introduce some new words
and structures

• Read and ask Ss to repeat
1. New words:
1. sundeck(n) boong tàu

5. refreshment(n)= canteen

II, While• Task 2: (15 mns)
speaking
Read the seat plan and choose
( 22 minutes) the best seat for each person.
For example:

• Work in groups
• Listen to the T

A: I think Tim should seat in section
C.
B: OK. Put him in seat 1 or 9.
C: That's a good idea because there
he can enjoy the sunshine and fresh
air.
B : I think Mrs Andrews should sit

in section A.
A : Yes. Put her in seat 43.
C: No. I think it’s not a good
because she needs to sec all the
students.
B : OK. Seat 46 would be better.

- Let Ss read the short
conversation and explain to them
- Divide Ss into group of 4
- Give them 5 minutes to conduct
the conversation using the
information in Task 1
- Each group will discuss 2 seats
for 2 people
- Call on some group to stand up
to speak out loud
- Correct Ss’ mistakes with the
structures “giving opinion,
agreement/ disagreement”,
content and pronunciation
• Task 3:
Choose the most suitable seat for
you. Use the information in Task
1 as suggestions.
- Explain for them and engage Ss
to find their favorite seats
- Give an example
(I think I would like to seat in
section C because I want to sit in


• Discuss with other

members to find the best
seat for each participant
• Call on some groups to
present

• Work in pairs
• Listen to the T
• Talk to a partner and

choose the best seat

Homework

• Guessing the seat

- Divide the class into 4 groups
- Each group will discuss about 1

seat and give some cues/ tips for
other groups to guess
- Call on a student of one group
to go to the board and speak out
loud the cues
- Other group guess
- Give a small gift to a group if
they can guess correctly
- Remind Ss to learn by heart
structures and new words and
prepare for the Listening lesson

• Raise hands and make the

conversation

• Listen to the T to

understand the rule
• Discuss with the group
• 1 go to the board and the
group left guess
