II. Cách phát âm:
Cách phát âm các danh từ tận cùng bằng s, es.
• Chữ s được phát âm là /s/ khi danh từ có các
âm tận cùng là: k, f, p, t, th.
/s/: Books , streets .
• Chữ s được phát âm là /iz/ khi các danh từ có
tận cùng là chữ cái: s, x, sh, ch, ce, ge, z.

/ iz/: Couches , kisses, taxes, classes sentences

• Chữ s được phát âm /z/; loại trừ 2 trường hợp
nói trên thì còn lại:

Cã 3 cách đọc : / s / , /z/ ,/ iz/.S/ES được đọc là :

-Sts copy.

1. Đối với “s” :
- “s” được đọc là “s” nếu từ tận cùng bằng : t, th,f
(gh),p, k (cách nhớ : tôi thở fì phò khiêng )
Ex : cuts
cooks cough chops ( verb )
books seats cups laughs moths / two- fifths (noun)
- trường hợp còn lại đọc là /z/ :
pens
rulers

2. Đối với “es”:
-“es” đọc là /iz/ nếu từ tận cùng bằng : ch, -ss x,s(ce),
,sh ,ge.
( cách nhớ :cháu sợ xuống sông,shuồng
Ex : watches

PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE
I. Aims
By the end of the lesson , SS will be able to know the theory of the present
progressive / continuous tense : form,usage, meaning.
- Teaching aids:

- Revision vocabulary: the names the means of transport: bike,plane….
- Hiện tại phân từ: Present participle: V -> Ving
A. Theory:
- Diễn đạt một hành động đang xẩy ra vào đúng lúc nói, ta chia động từ ở thì hiện tại tiếp
diễn.
- Các trạng từ chỉ thời gian đi kèm: now(bây giờ), right now (ngay lúc này), at the moment
(đúng lúc này), at present (hiện nay) để nhấn mạnh tính chất đang tiến hành của hành động
ở ngay lúc nói.

Form:
a. S + is / am / are + V-ing ……….
b. S + is / am / are + not + V-ing ……
c. Is / Am / Are + S + V-ing ….?

d. Wh + be + S + V-ing …?

-> S + be + V-ing……..

-> Present Participle(V-ing) hiện tại phân từ , được thành lập bằng cách thêm –ing vào sau
động từ nguyên thể của động từ.

Notes: - Có một số động từ tận cùng bằng chữ e câm: ta phải bỏ chữ e rồi mới thêm ing
vào sau động từ. write – writing, ride – riding , drive - driving….
- Những động từ có một âm nguyên âm duy nhất đứng giữa hai phụ âm ta phải gấp đôi
phụ âm cuối rồi mới thêm ing:run – running, swim - swimming, get - getting.

* Must: diễn tả sự bắt buộc(an obligation) hay sự cần thiết (the necessity)
- Có tính cách cá nhân. I must do the exercises every day.
- Của chính sự kiện (có tính quy tắc). We must drive on the right.
- Có tính cách mệnh lệnh: You must do your homework.
* Must not=mustn’t: không được. Chỉ sự ngăn cấm (a prohibition).You mustn’t talk in
class. -> Musn’t = can’t
* Needn’t : không phải, không cần: Phản nghĩa của “must”
Must we …? No,You needn’t. He must come here tomorrow but I needn’t

- Ss make sentences using those structures.

1. Từ chỉ bộ phận được dùng trước danh từ để chỉ một phần của sự vật cụ thể được đề cập
đến chứ không phải toàn thể.
a. Từ chỉ sự đo lường: a liter of oild, a pound of meat , a dozen eggs, 200 grams of chicken,
