UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT?
LESSON 1 (Part 4-5-6)
I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about which place someone would like to visit.
- Ss will be able to listen for specific information.
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.
II.Languages focus:
Sentence patterns: Which place would you like to visit,...or...?
I’d like to visit...
III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)

- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to work in groups to practice asking and answering questions about which place
someone would like to visit.

B. New lesson

4. Listen and circle a or b. (10ms)
- Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 4 on Page 59.
- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the given places in this task.
- Explain the way to do the task.
- Play the tape twice and let Ss do the task.
- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class.
5. Read and complete. (10ms)
- Have Ss look at part 5 on page 59.
- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the sentence pattern about which place
someone would like to visit.
- Explain the way to do the task.
- Let Ss work in pairs to do the task.
- Call on some pairs to give their answers.
- Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback.
6. Let’s sing. (10ms)
- Have Ss look at the picture in part 6 on page 59 and ask some eliciting questions.
- Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the song on the board and ask Ss to look at it. (Show
the song on the slide)
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song.
- Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the
rhythm and the tune of the song.

- Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat.
- Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole song.
- Call on some ss to sing the song in front of the class.
C. Consolidation (5ms)
- Do the exercise in the workbook.

-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.

It’s more...than I expected.
III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (3ms)
- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to sing the song “Which place would you like to visit?” to motive them before starting
the lesson.
B. New lesson

1. Look, listen and repeat. (7ms)

School Year: 2016-2017

- Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 60 and look at the pictures in part 1.
- Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the dialogue.
- Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the dialogues.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice.
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times.
- Divide the class into 2 groups, one group repeats Linda’s part and another one repeats Tom’s
part. Then change the roles.
- Listen and give feedback.
2. Point and say. (15ms)

- Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 60.
- Present the new words by using different techniques

+ attractive: hấp dẫn
+ exciting: náo nhiệt
+ interesting: thú vị
+ beautiful: đẹp
- After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral. Then, T calls Ss to repeat
individually.
- Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks
- Present the way to ask and answer questions about someone’s opinions about a place.
What do you think of...?
It’s more...than I expected.
- Do the task with one student as an example.
E.g: Teacher: What do you think of Hoang Phuc Pagoda?
Hoa: It’s more beautiful than I expected.

someone’s opinions about a place by pointing the given pictures. Then Ask Ss to change the
roles.

- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class.

- Have Ss look at part 5 on page 61.
- Explain the way to do the task.

A. Warm up (5ms)

School Year: 2016-2017

- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to work in group to practice asking and answering questions about which someone
would like to visit or someone’s opinions about a place.
B. New lesson
1. Listen and repeat. (10ms)

- Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 62 and look at the given questions and
answers.
- Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the correct intonation.
- Stick the cards of the sentences on the board and ask Ss to look at the sentences on them.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and repeat the questions and answers with the correct
intonation in chorus three times.
- Let Ss practice repeating in groups.
- Call on some Ss to repeat the questions and answers with the correct intonation in front of the

class.
2. Listen and mark the sentence intonation. Then say the sentences aloud. (10ms)

- Have Ss look at the questions and answers in part 2 on page 62.
- Help Ss distinguish the given sentences and the way to do the task by asking some eliciting
questions.
