Lesson 4: Write
I. Aim
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to write a report on a festival they have joined.
II. Language contents:

Memory game.Lucky numbers.
IV. Teaching aids:
Textbook E8, colored chalks, posters, pictures.
V. Procedures:
Teacher’s & students’ activities Content
Teacher hangs a photocopied picture on
the board and asks students to look at it
carefully ( for about 20’’ ). Then teacher
puts it away.
Teacher asks some questions.
Students listen carefully and answer.
Then teacher puts the picture on the
board again and asks students to check their
answers.
Teacher writes 9 numbers on the board
from 1 to 9.
Teacher tells students each number is for
a question but 3 of them are lucky numbers. If
students choose a lucky number, they don’t
have to answer any question but they get 2
points and they can get another number.
Teacher divides the class into 2 teams.

Suggestion :
This report shows how the Mid – autumn
festival was held in my neighborhood.
The Mid- Autumn festival was held on the
15
th
of August ( according to Lunar Calendar ).
This festival was specially organized for
Children .
It was held in the yard of the Cultural House in

my village. The main festival lasted for about
three hours when the moon is at its fullest.
During the festival, children took part in
various activities like : singing and shouting,
wearing masks, parading on the roads and
banging the drums.
Besides, children ate a very special cake
called Moon Cakes . They are filled with lotus
seeds, orange peel, ground beans, and
sometimes egg and pork fat for flavor.
Children went on playing traditional games
until mid-night.
I think this festival is a very special occasion
for Vietnamese people and especially for
