I. Warm up.
Sing
Invite a few pupils to role-play the short story in Review 1. Then
introduce the new unit by writing How many lessons do you have today? on the
board and check their comprehension. Explain the word lesson(s). Have pupils repeat the unit
title twice.

- Practicing listening and speaking skills.
- Disabled Ss improve speaking and listening skill

2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
IV. Procedures:

A. PRACTICE ACTIVITY
Warm up: ( 5’)
- Check the content of the previous lesson

Activity 3: Listen and tick ( 8’)

- Tell Ss that they are going to listen to 3 dialogues about dates and tick the correct pics.

- Ask them to look at the pics to identify that the name of the streets and the schools are
different. Revise how to say the street and the school’s name with them. Then ask them to say
the names shown in the pics.
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary. Ask Ss to listen to the recording and tick the
correct pics. Tell them to focus on the names
- Have them swap their answers before checking.

- Have Ss look at the sentences and the pictures (p41).
- Guide ss to complete the exercise in pairs
- Call on some Ss to report the answers .

Activity 5: Let’s sing ( 10’)
- Introduce the “This is the way” , Page 41.
- Play the recording and listen the “This is the way”
- Play the recording again for Ss to sing each line of the rhythm.
- Groups work. Ss practise singing and doing the actions in groups. Monitor the activity and
help them when necessary. Correct Ss’ errors.
- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing the
song and clap the rhythm.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation.

B. HOME - LINK

- Write the song “ This is the way” in your sheet of paper and stick them in any place at your

- Introduce the dialogue: They are going to listen to children talking about where their school is
and what their class is.
- Play the CD for the ss.
- Play again, have ss listen and repeat, focus on some words.
- Present the way to ask questions about what class they are in.
- Have ss read the dialogue.
- Check some groups.

- Have ss look at the picture and identify the name of the class.

- Tell Ss that they are going to listen to 4 dialogues about the name of school and class and put
the correct number in the pictures.
- Ask them to look at the pics to identify that the name of the shool and the class are different.

- Play the recording more than once, if necessary. Ask Ss to listen to the recording and number
the correct pics. Tell them to focus on the names
- Have them swap their answers before checking.

- Tell Ss that they are going to look at the pictures and complete the sentences.
- Give Ss few seconds to look through the pictures and guess the information they must pay
attention for.

- Ask Disabled Ss do the sentence 1 and 2

- Walk around monitoring and offering help, if necessary.
- Get Ss to swap their answers before checking.

- Have Ss learn to produce the sound of the letters “ sch”, “sk” and “str” .
- Play the CD .
- Play the CD again and ask Ss to repeat each line of the text in chorus.
- Have Ss read in groups/ in pairs.
