INTRODUCTION
Management of organizational behavior course is to help us explain the

attitudes and behavior of individuals in organizations, groups and the entire
organization of which we are a member.

During the Administration to study organizational behavior by Associate
Professor Dr. Tran Van Binh guide, I realize this is a required course for anyone
who is working in an organization. Through this course we can come up with
measures to motivate employees in each enterprise. It also helps managers
understand the role and importance of the employees working in their company.
So that managers know the desire, the essential requirements that employees
want their managers interested.
Compare what I have learned with the practice where I work - Management
consulting JSC English, I have learned the limitations exist in creating incentives
to promote the spirit ofemployees in the company. And from here I boldly make
suggestions for the board to improve this problem in the future.

II.

ANALYSIS OF THE NATURE OF THE TWO THEORY OF
MOTIVATE WORKERS
1. Maslow's theory of needs
According to Maslow, people in major organizations demand action.
Satisfaction satisfies their needs and encourages them to take action. At the same
time the demand is satisfied and maximum satisfaction is the purpose of human
action. According to the review, the key needs to be motivated and the impact on
the individual needs will change human behavior. In other words, the leader or
manager can control the behavior of employees using tools or measures to
influence their needs or expectations makes them aggressive and harder to
assigned work, more effort in every task.
Maslow's theory to explain and point out the specific needs of people, from
the essential needs such as the need for: conditions for food, shelter and living

conditions to the higher demand as: demand for the safety, needs to be respected.
All this needs to be arranged in the order arising from low to high in a pyramid
structure

Maslow’s need pyramid

4

In this theory, Maslow made in ascending order of needs as follows

Physiological needs include necessities such as: food needs, housing, living.

Safety Needs: the need for a risky environment, conducive to the
development of each person

Belonging needs: Everyone is individual in society, so they are keen to be
recognized by society. This includes needs to be exposed and mingle with
people in the group, have the opportunity to expand exchanges and
contribute comments in joint activities.

Estem needs: including the need to be affirmed, to be respected by the rest of
the world, by the collective. When respected, individuals are looking for

ways to express themselves better

Self Actualization: This is the highest needs in Maslow's hierarchy of
needs.Demand content including cognitive needs (learning, knowledge,
research, needs accomplish his purpose by the ability of individuals)
According to Maslow's needs above all is very important for everyone. The

low demand is the minimum needs of each person, a not satisfy these basic needs,
it will not appear the higher demand.
2. Herzberg's two-factor theory
Herzberg gave two groups of factors that affect the work of individuals in the
enterprise is a group of factors that impact the maintenance and group work
motivation factors.

Group elements have the effect of maintaining the operation of the people, it
is the supervision and working conditions, wages and private life is
guaranteed, consistent policy. The elements of working conditions, status,
salary they enjoy, personal relationships and job stability to help maintain

5

the operation of the people, without these factors will cause any employee
satisfaction leads to bad results for the organization.

A party is a group of factors that create dynamic effects, but because that is

individuals in an organization will do a better job, that's the challenge of jobs
and growth, achievement and responsibility, developmentexpectations of the
job. The factors that motivated an individual to improve performance at
work to get recognition of the organization. They assigned responsibilities
and that it makes sense and they have the opportunity to further
development.
For any organization, the maintenance factor is always essential to maintain

the work of the employees in the organization. Besides motivation factor is an
important factor to stimulate the efforts of staff. Both of these factors combined
will provide motivation for employees, to bring success for each organization.
3. The relationship between theory of Maslow and Herzberg's
theory
In the pyramid theory of needs Maslow and Herzberg's two-factor theory are
referring to the common elements in order to promote capacity development in
the work of the employee.
These two theories have a mutual relationship and complement each other,
Maslow's theory of needs analysis and assessment of the needs of the human
person, considered the needs of the people first, the individual needs help to
organize social existence and development. Meanwhile two-factor theory of
Herzberg appreciated factor to maintain the operation of individuals in the
organization.
Both theories refer to the demand and the need to create incentives for
employees.

ACTUAL CONTACT AT COMPANY

III.

i. Introduce about the company

Company’s name: Viet Management Joint Stock Company

The abbreviated name: Viet Management

Address: No. 52 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street – Đong Da District – Ha Noi City

Main activities of the company are recruitment, consultants including recruit for
senior

personnel.

Viet Management Company was established in 2006. After six years of operation,
the company has a solid position in the market. The number of employees in the
company consist 70 people, including 30 staffs who are permanent employees
and 40 collaborators.
ii. Some limitations in creating motivation in the company
Viet Management Company is a company work in the field of training and
recruitment. However, the company still exist some limitations in creating
motivated employees, including:

The salary and allowances of the employees do not have the allowance for

lunch and petrol while most employees are required to travel a lot due to the
nature of work.

The company does not provide specific regulations for remuneration, reward
makes the employees in the company has no motivation to develop. A
number of employees in the company only work for all hours and the nature
of the deal. This makes the quality of the work is very low.

Internal training for all staff is quite limited.

The staffs who have worked long years can not be assigned to the new job
which have the challenge and not give them the opportunity to represent and

7

opportunity for promotion. This issue makes the staff fell that they are not
respected and not the management take care staff so this staffs do not really
work to the best of their ability that only work with remaining nature.
iii. Analysis of motivation based on the theory

According to Maslow's theory, biological needs, including the need for food,

accommodation and daily necessities today. Due to the nature of work, all
employees are looking forward to get the supporting of companies in the
travel and lunch. This is the most basic needs that are not satisfied will make
employees in the company feel not treated, appreciated. This directly
impacts their psychological and adversely effect to work process.

According to Maslow's theory of self-improvement needs, including needs
desire to learn and be trained by the organization. Viet Management despite
work in the field of training, but the internal training is very limited.
Untrained staff and improve knowledge also makes them feel that they are
not a member of the organization.

According to Herzberg's two-factor theory, motivation factor has not been
promoted within the company. The company no reward regime, specific
treatment and training so employees do not have the motivation they strive
and effort.

IV.

MEASURES TO IMPROVE THE NEGATIVE IN COMPANY
Recognizing the importance of creating incentives for employees will help
employees feel that they are interested in the key members of the company. This
will affect their behavior, including the present, efforts in the process.

8

Derived from the practices taking place in Vietnam and Management
Company based on perception, I offer a number of solutions to improve the
negative in the company:
The company launched regulations reward and remuneration for each
particular case. For example: For those who work long years in the
company, the company should have an annual salary increase. In addition
the company should create conditions for them to improve, try the new job
to encourage them to strive to work.

Further promote the training of professional staff, especially for new
employees, focus on quality requirements and training and practice in order
to meet the practical work.

The company should provide clear regulations on compensation and through
the entire staff know. Besides salary increases are also specified to motivate
employees to work hard.

The company should consider adding allowances for employees who need to
travel a lot. Add to that an additional allowance for lunch on the salary of
each employee.

V.

CONCLUSION

Over the course of organization behavior by Associate Professor Dr. Tran Van
Binh teaching has helped me realize the importance of creating motivation for
workers, and also help me to understand more about the needs, the desire of
workers in general and employees in my company in particular. I know the needs
which need to ensure for employees firstly, when it needs to be assured what they
will expect to receive from the company and the manager. All these problems are
specific and detailed explanation of the theory was given during the study.
I would like to thank the professors and lectures of him so much.
