CHAPTER 1: OVERVIEW ABOUT “TRI TUE TRE”
EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY
I)

OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Nowadays, the Globalization has been on the rise, which leads to the
development of cross-cultural contact and the utility of English as the international
language can be overstated. In another words, “The globalization of English has
taken the language to many parts of the world”.(Sharifian, 2009)
The demand of people who want to use English as an advantage to win a place at
a famous school or Company is more and more increasing. Many English centers
are established in order to meet this demand.
Trí Tuệ Trẻ Educational Development Company (TTTEDC) was set up because

of this particular reason.

2) Company history
TTTEDC was founded in 2017, it is a private limited Company and legal
representative is Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh. Although it is just established in recent
years, it has a stable number of students – around one hundred students.

1

The Company is located at 04/01 Bui Thi Xuan, Tan Binh precinct, Di An town,
Binh Duong province where is near the Tan Binh market, Tan Binh Secondary
School, Tan Binh Primary school and a number of kindergarten schools, which is
one of the essential benefit of this Company.

Figure 1. The background of Tri Tue Tre Educational Development Company
from opening day
The Company’s field business is education. It has many advantages thanks to

obvious strategies such as: a room for day- boarder when the student’s parents are
busy at work, suitable curriculum for each period of age, beneficial extra curriculum
with foreign teachers, supporting students by giving a certificate of merit,
reasonable size of room, etc. To meet the demand of the students and their parents,
the Company is constantly striving to improve its quality.

II) OVERVIEW OF MY TASK DURING THE INTERNSHIP
1) Develop textbook for kindergarten level
My companion and I designed a textbook named Super Stars 2 for kindergarten,
which has suitable topics and attractive activities for this age group.

2) Teaching assistant
Some of my teaching assistant tasks included: communicating with foreign
teacher when he attends to the Company, helping him to manage the class when
students study in classroom or during an outdoor activity, and interpreting his ideas
to the student if necessary.

6

Figure 7: One of my teaching assistant time in Mr. Rob’s class

Figure 8: Help foreign teacher to manage a group of students in extra
curriculum.

3) Tutor
Every week, my duty is to help students catch up with the lesson in class by
checking their vocabulary’s comprehension, design exercises and ask them to do a
review of the previous lesson and teach a new lesson if possible.

7

Figure 9: Two students that I usually tutor in my internship period: Nhật MinhStarter level and Anh Tuấn- Pre- KET level

4) Class observation
When I have enough time, I will visit others teacher’s classes to learn about their
advantages and disadvantages. Then, drawing lesson for myself.

5) Mark exam papers
Sometimes, I also help others teachers to mark student exam papers (midterm test
and final test) in Starters 2 levels.

6) Score speaking test
Being an examiner was a very interesting experience. My mission was to aid
students with their speaking comprehension (Starters 3 level). The Speaking test
includes five levels of questions from easy to difficult. Therefore, student’s score
depends on which level they can answer.
7) Classroom teacher (demo)
I had the privilege to be a classroom teacher, which gave me many practical
lessons such as how to deal with defiant pupils, how to wake up a tired atmosphere
and how to reconcile when students quarrel with each other.

8) Office staff
Besides teaching time, I also had opportunity to be an office staff. From there, I
equipped myself with new skills pertaining to office jobs like doing actual surveys
for the Company, using computers to create mailmerge, book cover design,

bookbinding, office documentation, how to socialize and cooperate with different
people in a polite and effective matter.

CHAPTER 2: CONTENT OF THE REPORT
I)

RESEARCH ON THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1) Overview of the training program
 About the program

TTTEDC has a variety of training programs for each group of age based on
Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), which “provides a common
basis and a common language for the elaboration of syllabuses, curriculum
guidelines, textbooks, teacher- training programs, and for relating language
examinations to one another.”(North, 2005)
In order to meet the level of demand by students in the locality, the Director and
the Academic Management decided to create a new framework for a training
program that was still based on CEFR:

 English for young learners (Young Learner English- YLE - Starters,
Movers)
Due to the feature of this program, the Company raises the sense of initiative by
dividing the training program into small parts so that young learners can understand
and remember the lesson deeply.

10

Figure 11: An interesting lesson in Tri Tue Tre Educational Development
Company

 English for teenagers ( flyers, pre- KET, KET, pre- PET, PET)
Similar to YLE program, the Company also divided the training program for
teenagers using the same rationale.

 English for adults
For this kind of age group, the Company decided to teach Communicative
English in order to meet the student’s demand for English at work.

 About the contact hour
Different from most English centers in Viet Nam, TTTEDC sets 2 hours instead
of one hour and thirty minutes for a class so that the students can have more time to
memorize knowledge that they have learned through playing games. Especially,
students in TTTEDC can develop their speaking and listening skills naturally
through extra curriculum with foreign teachers.
 About the session of a course
Sessions for each course depend on the training programs that were created:
 English for young learners: 9 sessions for a course
 English for teenagers:
 flyers: 9 sessions for a course
 Pre –KET, KET, pre – PET, PET: 12 sessions for a course.
 English for adults: 12 sessions for a course

Figure 13: A training program for young English learners
 About course book and workbook

With a professional operation system, the Company developed special
kinds of textbooks and workbooks that are suitable for each level of the
training program.
12

.Figure 14: Workbook and course book

2) Evaluation
In my opinion, I think this kind of training program has some advantages and
disadvantages, also:
 Advantages
Firstly, setting class training dependent on student’s ability makes the system
easy to manage. Secondly, the Company opens the course every month that makes
new students registration easier. Thirdly, the contact hours are reasonable for the
teachers as well as the students. Finally, both the student and parents of the student
are content to gain an international certificate.
 Disadvantages
The first disadvantages is extra curriculum with foreign teachers is still limited in
meeting student parent requirements. Moreover, English courses with foreign
teachers are still unable to meet the demand of student’s parents. Besides, the
number of students in each class is unequal, some classes have about nineteen
students, but some just have six students.

3) Recommendation
13

I have some recommendations that may be beneficial for the training program.
Firstly, the percentage of extra curriculum time with foreign teachers should be

increased. Secondly, the courses with foreign teachers should be more
conversationally open so that the student will be able to use English more naturally.

II) RESEARCH ON THE ENROLLMENT CONSULTANT
1) Overview of the enrollment consultant
TTTEDC has a number of wise enrollment consults that attract students willing
to learn English. Some of the positive qualities included: Firstly, the Company
designs a beautiful system of uniforms, school bags as well as books to draw
student attention. Secondly, there are friendly admissions counselors who are
always in the office to clear up queries, give professional advice about everything
related to the course and check student’s incoming inspection. Besides, on the first
day of establishment, the Company diagrams an overview of the clear training
program, a student can also profit by delivering flyers that are “an ideal method of
marketing in order to grow business. A flyers sends customers the right message,
and delivers brand to an area or a selected demographic to effectively target the
customers it suits” .(Marketing, 2014) Fourthly, the Company frequently organizes
meaningful community programs for children in the locality, which is not only a
jaunty playground but also a brilliant promotion. Furthermore, the Company always
sets student’s parents mind at rest when they are busy at work because it has a room
for a day- boarder. Posters, which have many preferential, are always displayed on
the wall where is easy to see. In addition, information letters are always delivered to
inform about the score, the information about present courses and new courses,
which updates for student’s parent who want to know everything about their
children’s studies. Moreover, the Company also gives student grants for unlucky
students who study well, this kind of supporting activity goes a long way to
establish an honorable reputation. The Company also has a website and a Facebook
address to make a helpful link between the Company and student’s parents who
always want to follow their children’s activities in class.
