match each of them with the words in the box.

The suggested answers
1. The representatives of three classes of the
writer’s school took part in an final English
competition last Saturday.
2. Its aim was to stimulate the spirit of learning
English among the students.
3. The students’ Parents Society sponsored the
competition.
4. They had to complete five activities in all. On
completion of each activity, they had to answer
the questions in the worksheets with in two
minutes.
5. They had to observe and score the ss’
performance. The maximum score for each
activity was 15 points. At the end of the
competition, they would announce the total score
of each group. The group that got the highest
score would be the winner.
6. The winner would be awarded a Set of CDs
for studying English and an Oxfort Advanced
Learner’s Dictionary.
_ Look at the answers, and copy down
the ones on the notebook.
HOMEWORK: (2’)
_ Learn by heart the vocabulary.
_ Rread the text and do the tasks of the lesson again.
_ Prepare for Task 2 , task 3, and the part of “ After you read”.

I. Objectives:

- ask for and give information about types of competitions..
- talk about a competition or contest.

1. Checking students’ attendance.
2. Oral test: Check ss’ understanding about the text of reading by some questions and ask
them to write some vocabs of the previous lesson on the board. Check and give marks.
3. New lesson: Unit 6_ Speaking.
