<b>I. Objective: </b>
<b>1. Language focus:</b>
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter
<i>Ff and its sound correctly. </i>
- Understand, recognize and say the three Ff words.
- Write the letter Ff.
<i>Vocabulary: fox, fish, frog.</i>
<i>Sight words: my, funny.</i>
<b>2. Skill: </b>
- Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
<b>3. Attitude:</b>
- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.
<b>II. Teaching aids: </b>
- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, software.
<b>III. Method:</b>
- Model – Talk – Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.

<b>2. Warm up (5’) </b>
<i><b>Activity: Reorder Letter</b></i>
- T put up the egg, elf, elephant and elbow phonics cards on the board.
- T write the letter of each word in jumbled order around the phonics cards.
- Ask Ss to write the words in their notebook.
- Ask individual students to come to the board and write the words.

<i><b>Activitiy 1: Listen, point and repeat. Colour (7’)</b></i>
- T introduction of letter F, Its sound and how to
pronounce the words beginning with Ff.
- T use a card with letter Ff or write on the board
the letter Bb to introduce to the students the new
lesson.
- Ask Ss how to pronouce the letter name and the
letter sound by saying “ This is the letter Ff /ef/.
The letter F makes the / f/ sound.
- Ss listen and repeat.
- T ask Ss to repeat several times and check
student’s pronunciation(letter Ff /ef/ and its sound.
- Ss work in group.
- Ss work individually.
- Ss look the cards and repeat.
<i><b>1. Listen, point, repeat</b></i>
<i><b>Colour.</b></i>
- T use gestures (hand actions) to help Ss to
understand the meanings of the 3 words.
- Ss check the meaning and repeat.
- T check student’s understanding T says the
words,all ss do actions and vice versa.
- T call some Ss to say the words out loud and
correct their mistakes.
- Ss remember the cards.
<i><b>*Activity: What is it? </b><b>(4’)</b></i>
- T hold up the phonics cards <i><b>fox, fish, and frog.</b></i>
- Show one by one card, partly hidden by a sheet
of paper.
- Slowly reveal the phonics card.
- Ss try to guess what the phonics card is.
- Go on the other cards.
- T check correct the students’ pronunciation.
<i><b> Activity 2. Listen and point. Choose (5’)</b></i>
- T ask Ss look at the books and listen to the
words:<i><b> My funny</b></i>
- T point to the cat and say: I am a cat. Then, ask
Ss to repeat.
- Play the CD.
- Ask Ss to look at the pairs of pictures on the side
and choose the correct one for each corresponding
animal.
<i>Eg:Teacher: (pointing to the fox) My funny, …</i>
<i> Student 1: fox! etc.</i>
<i><b>Activity: Memory Game </b><b>(5’)</b></i>
- Put the phonics cards of <i><b>fox, fish, and frog</b></i> on
- T ask Ss to memorize the order of these cards
- T ask Ss to close their eyes, remove one phonics
card randomly and ask individual Ss to name it.
- Continue changing the other cards.
<i><b>Activity 3. Chant and show(5’) </b></i>
- Put up the lyrics of the chant on the board
- Without music, use the phonics cards and step Ss
to sing the chant with <i><b>fox</b></i>. Do the same with <i><b>fish</b></i>
and <i><b>frog</b></i>
- With music, Ss sings the whole chant. Do the
chant again using gestures for each word.
<i><b>Activity: Write down the words into notebook</b></i>
- Ask students write down: Ff, egg, elf, elephant
into their notebook.
