correctly.


- Understand, recognize and say the three Pp words.
- Write the letter Pp


- Vocabulary: pen, panda, parrot.

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
<b>3. Attitude:</b>


- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.
<b>II. Teaching aids: </b>


- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant.

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.
- Some techniques can be used: music chairs.

<b>2. Warm up (5’) </b>


- T put up the phonics cards from the previous unit (olive, orange, omelette, octopus)
on the board.


- Write the first and last letter below each phonics card.


- Ask individual students to come to the board and complete the words.
- Ask the rest of the class for verification.

understand the meanings of the three words.

- T divide the class into two teams, team A and
team B.


- T put one of the phonics cards (e.g: pen) on
the board.


- T ask a student from Team A to identify the
sound (one point), the picture (one point) or
both (two points).


- Continue with a student from Team B.
- Write the points for each team on the board.
- T give feedback.


<i><b> Activity 2: Listen and point. Choose. (7’)</b></i>


- T asks Ss look at the book and listen to the
words: a pen, a panda, a parrot.


- Ask Ss listen and repeat the words for several
times


- T put up the phonics cards on the board.
- T point to the orange card and say: A pen,


<i>please.</i>


- T ask the students come to the board.
- Ss point to the phonics card and say: A ...
<i>please.</i>


- T monitors and give feedback.


<i><b>Activity: Speed Race Game (5’)</b></i>


- T put three chairs in front of the board.
- T divide the class into 3 teams; call one
student of each team to stand up.

- Put a phonics card on each chair.


- Read one of the three words out loud (e.g. <i><b>a </b></i>
<i><b>panda</b></i>), students must try to be the first to sit
on the chair with the corresponding phonics

- The student who sits on the chair first will get
1 point for his/ her team.


- Give feedback.


<i><b>Activity 3. Chant and show (7’) </b></i>


- T put up the lyris of the chant on the board.
- Without music, use the phonics card and step


Ss to sing the chant with pen. Do the same
with p and panda.


- Ss listen and chant.


- With music, the whole class sing the whole
chant. Do the chant again using gestures for
eacg word.


- T give feedback.


- T ask Ss to write the chant in to note book.
- Ss write the chant in their notebook.


- T ask Ss to do excersise in the work book.
- Ss do excersise in the work book.

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
<b>3. Attitude:</b>


- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.

sound of the letter and words.

Class: (mime writing with a pen) pen.

- T read the storyand ask Ss follow their books.
- Teacher reads the printed words then let the
students look at the pictures and say the words.


- Ss look at the pictures and say the words.


- T ask students work in pairs. One reads while the
other checks, then they change roles. Or one reads
the printed words while the other looks at the
pictures and says the words.


- Ss to work in pairs.

- T put up the phonics cards on the board.


- T ask the students to memorise the order in which
the items appear.


- T remove the phonics cards.


- T ask a student to name the items in the correct
order.

- Do the same procedure with changing the order of
the phonics cards.


<i><b>Activity 5. Song (7’) </b></i>


- T puts the pen, panda and parrot phonics cards up
on the board.


- T point to the octopus and say: “Can I have a pen,
please!”.


- Ss repeat.


- Follow the same procedure and present the rest of
the song.


- T play the CD.


- Ss listen and sing along.
- T play the CD again.


- Ss sing and do corresponding actions.


<i><b>Activity: Step on It Game (5’)</b></i>


- T puts the phonics cards in a circle on the floor.
- Play the song and let’s Ss walk around the cards.
- T stop the music and name an item on one of the
cards. (e.g: pen).



- Ss race to step on that orange card.


- The first student to step on it is the winner and
name the card missing.
