By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to :
- ask and aswer questions about school subjects

- Sentence Patterns: <i>What subjects do you have today ? I have ….. </i>


- Vocabulary review: names of subjects

<b>I. WARM - UP </b>
<b> Slap the board</b>


<b>II. NEW LESSON</b>
<b>1. Listen and tick: </b>



<b>- Have pupils look the pictures with the subjects in each number</b>
- Get sts say aloud


- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 3 dialoges and tick the correct
pictures withs names of subjects.


- Play the recording twice for pupils listen and choose the correct answers.
- Compare the answers with the partners.


- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.
- T gets the answer:


- Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction.


- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

<b>2. Look and write:</b>


- Have pupils look at the schools’ subjects
- Ask pupils what they do this part


- Tell them that they are going to complete the sentences


- Have pupils work in pairs to complete the sentences by looking at the
information in the pictures to fill in the blanks.


- Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in
individuals.

- Have pupils discuss their answers within in pairs for correction.
- Have pupils comment the answer on the board.


- Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class.
- Have the class chorally read each line.

- Introduce the song “<i>What day is it today?”</i>


- Play the recording and listen the song<i>.</i>



- Play the recording again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm.
- Call on a group of six to the front of the class and do the actions.
- The others clap their hands after the song


- Group work. Pupils practise singing and doing the actions in groups.


- Monitor the activity and help them when necessary. Correct pronunciation Ss’
errors.


- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the
class sing the song and clap the rhythm.


- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation.

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the
appropriate line in their books.


- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles.
- Repeat the step a few times.


- Some Ss role play and the others comment.
- Ask Ss to role play.


- Ask Ss to role play before the class.


- Explain the meaning of the language practised.
<b>2. Point and say</b>


- Ask Sts to look at the pictures given.



- Play CD for sts listen and repeat all the days given


- Read the words and have pupils read in chorus, individuals.
- Explain the pattern:

- Ask pupils about what they get information to say.


- Tell them that they are going to ask and act out Sam, Fred, Mimi, Winnie to
answer when you have Science.


- Have pupils act out the characters to ask and answer about the subjects


- Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the
class observe and give respond.

- Ask them to read the questions given:


What subjects do you have today?
When do you have English?


Who is your _________ teacher?
- Ask pupils to answer the questions.



- Have pupils ask and answer in pairs.


- Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds
and intonation), and offer help when necessary.


- Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the
class observe and give comments if possible.


- Make a few questions to check pupils' comprehension of the language.
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus

- Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and number the boxes.
- Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner.

- Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 4 sentences and tick the words they
hear to complete the 4 sentences


- Play the recording twice pupils to listen and tick.
- Compare the answers with the partner.


- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer:
- Have pupils act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction.


- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the
syllables.


- Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of
the class observe and give comments if possible.
