Lesson 1: Getting started & listen and read
I Aims:
-By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to identify the activities about helping the
poorers, to listen and read conversation between Nga and the secretary.
-To develop listening and reading skills.
-To educate Ss to be ready for participating in the activities of the Y & Y and to
help Ss to
know more information about the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer and Youth Organization ( Y
& Y ).
II. Language content:
- Present tense with future meaning.
- Modal: May, Can,Could
- Gerunds
III. Teaching method:
-Pairs work, groups work, intensive reading and communicative method.
IV. Teaching aids:
- Lesson plan E.8, textbook, pictures, sub.board, tape and cassette...

1. Getting started.(7’)
T asks Ss to identify the activities of the Ho
Chi Minh Young Pioneer and Youth
Organization ( Y & Y ).
T asks Ss to check (√ ) in the boxs .


T comments and goes on new lesson.

2. Listen and read.(33’)
2.1 Pre- reading
T sets the scene to Ss.
