Period 1: GETTING STARTED + LISTEN AND READ Date of teaching: 24/08 /07
I. Aims: Talk about visiting and entertainment that students are able to make for their friends when they come to visit
their country from a foreign country. Introduce a visit from LAN’s pen pal.
II. Language contents:
1. Vocabulary: to correspond (v), mosque (n), to be impressed by…, to pray (v)
2. Structure: - Past simple tense: S + V-ed ( Past column of the irregular Verbs)

- Now let’s imagine you have a foreign pen pal who is
coming to visit you for the first time. He / She is going to
stay with you for a week. What activities would you do
during the visit?
- Let students look at the pictures in their books and tell

- Ask students what are there in their regions that attract
visitors.

- Prepare ten cards with numbers on one side and the

- Make sure the counties and the cities are mixed up.
