New York City is located in the southern part of New York State. The city was found
by the Dutch in 1642. At first it was called Fort Amsterdam, and then New Amsterdam.
In 1664 the English took over the city and renamed it New York. The population is more
than 7,000,000 in the city and 19,000,000 in the metropolitan region. New York is the
largest city in the USA. It is devided into five parts, which are Manhattan, Bronx,
Brooklyn, Queens, and Stalen Island. The total area of these parts is 946 sq kilometers.
Visitors to the city are all attracted by places such as the Statue of Liberty, The Empire
state Building, and Wall street…..New York is also where tourists can visit some famous
gallaries and museums.
