Step 1 Checklist
1. ________ Organization Pillar leader identified and training qualification initiated.
2. ________ Organization Pillar team members identified including key line management.
3. ________ Site Leader activates Organization Pillar team with appropriate charter.
4. ________ Team members must fully understand their roles and responsibilities.
Step 2 Checklist
1. ________ Site Leader shares business situation, CBN to change, IWS vision and current business results.
2. ________ Train and qualify pillar owner and team members on the Organization Pillar.
3. ________ Overview Pillar training provided to organization leadership team and other IWS resources.
4. ________ Conduct a Behavior Assessment/LAT.
5. ________ Leadership team trained on the principles and understands and aligns to the required new behaviors to
achieve the CBN.
6. ________ Behavior observation systems put in place to measure Leadership and Organization Behaviors identified
in zero loss journey.
Step 3 Checklist
1. ________ Identify gaps in current results versus business situation.
2. ________ Identify behaviors that influence current results.
3. ________ Identify defects in the current organization design that require correction.
4. ________ Identify the real strategy and understand the gap between that and the articulated strategy.
5. ________ Compare the real strategy to the business situation.
Step 4 Checklist
1. ________ Conduct a baseline IKEA prior to developing the Pillar Master Plan.
2. ________ Based on the site’s master plan, establish tasks, timing, critical path, milestones, and resources for the
Pillar implementation.
3. ________ Communicate and gain alignment with site leadership.

Step 5 Checklist
1. ________ Create and design/redesign team with the appropriate charter (team develops).
2. ________ Verify business strategy to deliver the Compelling Business Need.
3. ________ Make any changes in any of the design elements to fit the new strategy. Pillar owners need to specify for
the Design Team the approximate distribution (how many people and what skill level) of these
skills across the organization.
4. ________ Identify positive and negative impacts of new design elements on the organization culture.
5. ________ Predict results from new design and adjust if necessary.
Step 6 Checklist
1. ________ Use Steps 4.0 - 5.0 to update the Pillar Master Plan.
Step 7 Checklist
1. ________ Communicate and implement the organization design/redesign.
2. ________ Implement plan for line execution.
3. ________ Collect and track data on design plan targets.
4. ________ Review plan monthly and adjust.
5. ________ Update team/individual work plan.
6. ________ Review plan quarterly and adjust.
Step 8 Checklist
1. ________ Assess actual results versus goals/performance map.
2. ________ Conduct annual IKEA.
3. ________ Update Organization Pillar Master Plan.
4. ________ Redesign as required and implement changes.
