UNIT 4: MY BODY
Lesson 1: Part A, B, C
I. Objective
1. Language focus
- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify body parts and follow
simple instructions.
Vocabulary: head, leg, arm.
Structure: Touch your (head).
2. Skills
- Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing skills
3. Core competencies & Personal qualities
- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.
II. Teaching aids
1. Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, software,
powerpoint, laptop.
2. Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.
III. Method
- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.
IV. Procedures
Teacher - Students’ activies
1. Warm up (5’)
*Activities: “Bang!”
- T asks Ss work in groups.
- T give each group a box with many pieces of
paper in it. Write a sentence on the paper .
E.g. It’s a pink flower./ It’s a white flower./….
and fold it in half.
- Add a few cards that say "BANG!".
- T asks Ss to take turns picking up a card from
the box. If they read the sentence correctly,
they get to keep it. If they draw a BANG!
Card, they yell BANG! and then return all their
cards (except the BANG! card) to the box.
2. Presentation
*Activitiy A: Listen and point. Repeat. (7’)
a. Vocabualary
- T use flashcards to introduce the new words:

- T asks Ss to listen to each new word.
- T asks Ss to listen to to each new word and
repeat all together and individually.
- T play the Cd and asks Ss to listen and point
to the pictures in their books.
- T play the Cd again and asks Ss to listen,
repeat several times.
- T change the order of the flashcards, point to
them individually and have students say the
words, correct pronunciation when needed.
- T asks Ss to work in pairs, one of them points
to the picture in the book and the other says the
word.
- T asks Ss to point to parts of body and say
the words aloud.
*Activitiy: Do as I say (3’)
- T says a word about parts of body and touch
his/ her part of body.
E.g.
- T says “head” and touches his/ her head (or
leg/ arm.
- T asks Ss to listen carefully and touch their
parts of body.
E.g.
- Ss touch their heads when they hear “head”.
*Activitiy B. Listen and point. (8’)
- T introduce the situation.
b. Sentence parttern
Touch your (head).
E. g. Teacher says, “ Touch your head.” and
touch his / her head. Ss listen, say and do the
same.
- T plays the CD and ask Ss to look at the
picture.
- T demonstrate the activity by pointing to the
new vocabulary items.
- T plays the CD again and ask Ss to listen and
point.
- T asks Ss to work in pairs. One says the
command and one acts out. Swap the roles and
continue.

B. Listen and point.
- T asks Ss to turn to page 68.
C. Now, sing a song
- T read the lyrics as a whole class.
- T plays the CD and ask Ss to listen.
- T plays the CD again and ask Ss to listen,
sing along and act out.
3. Application: Quick pointing (5’)
- T divide children into groups.
Play Game
- T call out one body word.
- Ss point to their body parts as fast as possible
and say the words.
- Groups that say the words correctly and point
correctly win points.
4. Summary
- Learn by heart the word “head, leg, arm”.
