<b>UNIT 9: MY FAMILY</b>
<b>Lesson 1</b>
<b>I. Objectives</b>
- By the end of this unit, pupils can identify family members.
- Pupils can recognize English sounds and spoken words.
- Pupils can recognize family relationships.
<b>II. Procedures</b>
<b>*Warm up: Review the vocabularies.</b>
<b>A. Presentation</b>
<i><b>1. Teaching vocabulary</b></i>
<b>Step 1: Teacher teaches vocabulary: baby, brother, dad, grandma, grandpa, mum, </b>
sister.
<b>Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the words.</b>
<b>Step 3: Pupils copy down into their notebooks and repeat after the teacher. </b>
<b>Step 4: Ask a few pupils to read aloud.</b>
<b>B. Practice</b>
<i><b>2. Listen and say</b></i>
<b>Step 1: Tell pupils that they are going to learn the words for the members of the </b>
family.
<b>Step 2: Play CD, holding up the flashcard for each family member as the name is </b>
said.
<b>Step 3: Play CD again. Pupils repeat the word chorally and individually.</b>
<b>C. Production</b>
<b>Step 1: Say the words at random, e.g. baby, brother, dad, grandma, grandpa, mum, </b>
sister.
<b>Step 2: Check pupils are pointing to the correct person in their books.</b>
<b>Step 3: Play CD and pause after each word. Pupils listen and point to the person in </b>
their books.
<b>D. Application</b>
- Learn vocabularies by heart.
<b>WEEK 29 – PERIOD 58</b>
<b>UNIT 9: MY FAMILY</b>
<b>Lesson 2</b>
<b>I. Objectives</b>
- By the end of this unit, pupils can talk about one’s family.
- Pupils can write simple words in English.
- Pupils can develop fine motor control.
<b>II. Procedures</b>
<b>*Warm up: Review the names of family members.</b>
<b>A. Presentation</b>
<i><b>1. Teaching vocabulary and structure</b></i>
<b>Step 1: Teach vocabulary and structure: He / She is…. They are … </b>
<b>Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the words. </b>
<b>Step 3: Pupils copy down into their notebooks and repeat after the teacher. </b>
<b>Step 4: Ask a few pupils to read aloud.</b>
<b>B. Practice</b>

<b>Step 1: Tell pupils to look at the picture on pages 52 and 53.</b>
<b>Step 2: Play CD. Pause after each phrase.</b>

<b>Step 2: Repeat with the other flashcard, identifying the family members with He is </b>
