UNIT 1: A VISIT FROM A PEN PAL
LESSON 2: SPEAK + LISTEN
I. OBJECTIVES:
- By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to:
+ Practice speaking to introduce oneself and respond other’s introduction.
+ Listen and choose the correct pictures.
II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, cassette player, tape and some pictures

1 / Warm-up : (8’)
* Pelmanism:
- Prepare ten cards with numbers on one side and the
countries and the cities on the other side.

- Divide Ss into two teams and ask them to choose two
numbers.
- Turn over the cards and sees if they match. If not, turn
the card face down again and asks the other team to
choose. Continue until all the cards are turn over.
2/ Pre-speaking: (12’)
Activity 1:
- Introduce the situation:“ Nga is talking to Maryam.
They are waiting for Lan outside her school.”
- Ask Ss to do exercise a) on page 8.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to discuss and then share the
answers to the partners.

- Make questions to check Ss’ understanding.
