Writing
Better English
Most of us, when we leave school and no longer have English classes, stay at the
same level of English or even get worse if we don't practise! However, we are
also aware that knowledge of English is important to get a good job, be able to
communicate with people from other countries and access global media.
Here are some things you can do yourself to keep learning English. The obvious
place to go is the internet. You can find websites where you can check your level
of English and then do exercises, quizzes and games. Just surf the internet until
you find a site that appeals to you. You can also watch movies in English with
or without subtitles. This is a good way to keep your English up-to-date and
enjoy yourself at the same time! Listening to songs is also fun and helps with
pronunciation.
Best of all is to have an English-speaking friend that you can talk to. If you're
lucky, you might know someone in your town. Otherwise, look on the internet for
international pen-friend sites and then Skype your new friend.
