Topic: You and your family are planning to spend a weekend at a seaside hotel. Write a letter
to the hotel making the arrangements. Let them know when you will be arriving and leaving,
what type of rooms you would like, and ask them how much the weekend will cost. Also
enquire about activities and places of interest near the hotel.
You should write at least 120 words. You do not need to include your name or addresses.
Your response will be evaluated in terms of Task Fulfillment, Organization, Vocabulary and
Grammar.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to you to make an arrangement for me and my mother to stay at your hotel.
We are planning to spend the weekend there, from the 22nd to 24th October. I am hoping that you
would inform us of the available rooms with a few requirements below.
We will arrive at noon on Friday, 22nd October. We will spend our weekend at your hotel then
check out from the hotel at 11:00 a.m on Sunday, 24th October. There’s only me and my mother
so that I prefer a twin room which has a balcony, a large bathroom with hot water and an air
conditioner. Also, please make sure the Wi-Fi is strongly worked because I will have some online
jobs to do. I will appreciate it if there’s a beach view or a mountain view attached to the room.
It would be great if you could inform us of the price of the weekend, whether the mentioned room
is available or there’s any discounts for families in your reply letter. Moreover, because of our first
time at your place, we barely know where to go or what to do. Please give us some suggestions
about activities and places of interest near the hotel.
