<b>THE PRESENT COUNTINOUS (Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn)1.CẤU TRÚC</b>

(+) S + am/is/are + V-ing …..

<b>I am not studying English. </b>

She/He/It isn’t eating Pho.

<b>You/We/They are studying English.</b>

(-) S + am/ is/ are + not + V-ing (?) Am/Is/Are + S + V- ing….?

<b>2. CÁCH DÙNG & DẤU HIỆU:</b>

<b>a. Hành động nói chung đang diễn ra nhưng khơng nhất thiết phải thực sựdiễn ra ngay lúc nói. </b>

<b>>>> now, right now, at present, at the moment, at this time, today,….</b>

Ex: The children are playing footbal now

<b>b.Diễn tả sự việc sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai theo kế hoạch cố định </b>

<i><b>>>> Có sắp đặt chắc chắn, thường đi kèm với các động từ chỉ sự di chuyển go, come, leave, move, travel, fly, arrive </b></i>

<b>>>>> Kèm theo các trạng ngữ chỉ thời gian: tonight, tomorrow, this year, this season,…</b>

Ex: I am flying to New York tomorrow.

<b>c.Diễn tả hành động thường xuyên xảy ra gây khó chịu. >>> (always, constantly, frequently, continually,…) </b>

Ex: She is always singing at midnight.

<b>d.Hành động đang diễn ra ngay lúc nói. </b>

<b>>>> Be careful! Look!, Listen!, Hurry up!,….. </b>

Ex: Look! She is dancing in the stage.

e.Diễn tả hành động mang tính tạm thời, thường đi kèm với các trạng ngữ:

<b>>>>> today,these days, this week,…. </b>

Ex: I usually start work at 7 o’clock, but for this week only I’m starting at 8 o’clock.

3. CÁCH THÊM V-ING

-Động từ tận cùng là “-e”  bỏ “-e” rồi thêm “-ing”

Ex: come  coming, but see  seeing, free  freeing

-Động từ tận cùng “-ie”  chuyển “-ie” thành “-y” rồi thêm “ing” Ex: lie lying, die  dying

-Động từ đuội “-ic”  thêm “-k” rồi thêm đuôi “-ing” Ex: traffic  trafficking, panic  panicking

-Động từ tận cùng bẳng một phụ âm + y  thêm “ing” Ex: try  trying , reply  replying

-Động từ Verb 1 vần tận cùng 1 phụ âm (ngoại trừ w, h, y, x) trước 1 nguyên âm , gấp đôi âm cuối:

sit  sitting

-Động từ Verb 2 vần, trọng âm nhấn vần 2 gấp đội phụ âm cuối ( vần thứ 2 phải thỏa mãn trường hợp 4)

Ex: begin  beginning, prefer  preferring, but suffer  suffering
