Lesson 1: Reading
(Period 43)
I. Objectives: Read the text about life in the future and do the tasks.
II. Aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- understand the meanings of the words in context.
- read the text and do the tasks (matching, answer comprehension question, ).
- talk about life in the future.
III. Language focus:
- Words/ phrases related to life in the future.
- Present and Future simple tenses.
IV. Methods: Communicative approach and Intel teaching method.
V. Teaching aids: Projector, computer, handouts, pictures, cards, real things, CD,
board, chalks,
VI. Time: 45 minutes.
VII. Class: 12 A4.
VIII. Anticipated problems:
Students may not have enough vocabulary to talk about the topic. The teacher needs
to provide appropriate linguistic resources.

- Give a game: Kim’s Game.
+) Let students look at 10 photos in 20seconds.
+) Students work in groups and choose the photos

+) If a group gives a correct answer, the group will
win.
- Ask some students the questions:
“Do you think life will be better in the future?”
“Can you guess what the main topic is?”
