I. MỤC TIÊU MÔN HỌC:
1. Cơ sở:
- Do Bộ Giáo Dục và Đào Tạo qui định.
- Tạo điều kiện hoà nhập với cộng đồng Quốc Tế và khu vực.
2. Mục tiêu chung:
- Hình thành và phát triển ở học sinh những kiến thức, kỹ năng cơ bản về Tiếng Anh và
những phẩm chất trí tuệ cần thiết để tiếp tục học hoặc đi vào cuộc sống lao động.
3. Mục tiêu cụ thể:
- Học xong THCs, học sinh đạt được những yêu cầu chủ yếu sau:
+ Nắm được kiến thức cơ bản, tối thiểu và tương đối hệ thống về Tiếng Anh, thực hành
hiện đại, phù hợp lứa tuổi.
+ Có sự hiểu biết khái quát về văn hoá của các nước sử dụng Tiếng Anh.
+ Giao tiếp đơn giản dưới dạng: nghe – nói - đọc - viết.
II. NỘI DUNG MÔN HỌC:
Xoay quanh 6 chủ điểm lớn:
- Các vấn đề thuộc về cá nhân (You and me)
- Các vấn đề về học tập và giáo dục (Education)
- Cộng đồng (Community)
- Sức khoẻ (Health)
- Vui chơi giải trí (Recreation)
- Thế giới quanh ta (The world around us)
III. PHÂN PHỐI CHƯƠNG TRÌNH:
Gồm: 105 tiết dạy trong 35 tuần.
HKI: 3 tiết x 18 tuần = 54 tiết học
HKII: 3 tiết x 17 tuấn = 51 tiết học


Có 16 đơn vị bài học trong cả năm
HKI: 8 bài (từ bài 1 -> bài 8)
