Read the passage then do the tasks that follow.
Every morning , I get up at six. The first thing I
do is to wash my face then I cook breakfast . We
eat at about 6.15.We usually have bread and butter


,sometimes we have rice ,or boiled sweet potatoes.
I often go to schoo; at 6.30 am, it takes meaout
15 minutes to walk to school . Our school begins
at 7.15 am.There are about 1,800 students in our
school. We often have five lessons from 7.15 to
11.25 am. We study many subjects : Maths,
Literature, Geography, Physics, History,Physical
Education, Civic education, Biography, English,
Chemistry, Informatics and Information
Technology.I like english best, and next to that ,
Maths.
I have lunch with my family at 12.00 after lunch I
often have a short nap. I often do my home work
and revise the lessons in the afternoon. I ofyen
play football with my friends from 5.00 pm to 6.00
pm.
We often have dinner at 6.45, then I wash the
dishes. Ater that I wacth TV, then I prepare the

I. The present simple tense.
T reviews the form, the usage of the tense.
1. Form:
(+) S + V(s/es) ..
(-) S + do/does + not + V ..
(?) (Wh) + Do/ does + S + V..?
2. Use:
a. Diễn tả môt hành động hoặc một thói quen ở hiện tại (always,
usually, often, someyimes, occasinally, rarely, never, every .)
Eg: I usually go to school in the morning
b. Diễn tả một sự thật , một chân lý
Eg ; The Earth moves around the Sun.
Thêm s vào sau động từ khi dùng với ngôi thứ 3 số ít.
Thêm es khi động từ kết thúc bằng: ch, sh, s, x, o, z.
II. The present progressive tense.

1. Form :
(+) S + am/ is / are/ + V-ing..
(-) S + am/ is /are/ + not + V-ing..
(?) (Wh) + am/ is/ are + S + V-ing...?
2. Use:
Diễn tả hành động đang diễn ra tại thời điểm nói , hoặc xung
quanh thời điểm nói.( at the moment, now, at the present)
Eg: We are learning English now.
I am reading a very interesting book
Notes: Một số động từ không dùng với thì tiếp diễn nh: to be ,
to want , to understand, to need, to know, to feel .
III. The Present perfect tense.
1. Form : (+) S + have/has + Vpp.
(-) S + have/ has + not + Vpp.
(?) Wh + have/ has + S + Vpp ..?
2. Use:
a. Diễn tả hành động bắt đầu diễn ra trong quá khứ mà vẫn
kéa dài đến hiện tại hoặc tơng lai ( Never, since, for, not
yet, so far, until now, up to now....)
Eg: We have learned English for 5 years.
b. Diễn tả hàn động vừa mới xẩy ra (just, recently, lately).

c. Diễn tả hành động diễn ra trong quá khứ mà thời gian
không xác định.( already, before..)
Eg : Have you ever seen that film before?

Lu ý cách dùng Since và For

Reading is Fun
Have you ever shared and talked about your favourite books with
your friends? If you join a book club, you will have very rewarding
experience.By reading and discussing good books with your
friends or your classmates, you can go into the depth of the the
books and find them more interesting. When you are scheduled to

attend the club regularly , you cant say that you are too busy to sit
down with a book. Some students become more confident by
leading the discussion or making a book report before an audience.
Besides, being a member of a book club , you will have the chance
to make new friends.
In order for your club to work effectively , it should be small

enough so that even shy people can have a chance to express their
ideas. However, the club has to be big enough in order to have a
vatiety of viewpoints about the content of the books. A mixture of
age groups, sexes and cultural background is preferred. This
heterogeneous group will provide liverlier and more various
discussions. The book club could specialize in one or more
subjects , depending on the taste of its members.

I. Gerund:
1. Danh động từ làm chủ ngữ:
Eg: Going to the cinema is fun
Cách dùng trên tơng đơng với cấu trúc : It +be+ adj + to-inf

Eg: Going to the cinema is fun = It is fun to go to the cinema.
2. Danh động từ đứng sau giới từ , động từ + giới từ, tính từ +
giới từ:
Eg: She is interested in learning English
I am looking forward to seeing you
After having meals, he often smoke a ciggarett.
3.Danh động từ làm tân ngữ sau 1 số động từ:
Eg: He like swimming
Những động từ theo sau là danh động từ: admit, mind, prevent,
cant help, suggest, deny, practise, avoid, consider, enjoy, finish,
start, ..

II. To-infinitive
1. Động từ nguyên mẫu dúng sau 1 số động từ. Có 2 cách dùng ;
a. Main verb + to-inf (want , hope, decide, swear, happen, manage,
tend, try, refuse, accept, )
Eg: She ánt to go home now.
b. Main verb + object + to-infinitive
(want, tell, ask, advise, allow, encourage, force, invite, teach, train, )
Eg : She asked me to go with her
2.Dùng động từ nguyên mẫu để đa ra lý do:
Eg; She always bring a knife with her to protect herseft.
3. Dùng động từ nguyên mãu trong cấu trúc: It+be+ adj + to-inf
Eg: We are ready to leave.
