4. Some and any:
* Some: được dùng với cả danh từ đếm được và danh từ không đếm được. Danh từ
đếm được phải ở số nhiều. Danh từ không đếm được ở dạng số ít.
Some milk, some water, some apples, some bananas …
* Some được chuyển thành any trong câu phủ định và nghi vấn.
- There is some milk in the bottle.
There isn’t any milk in the bottle.

- There are some bananas in the fridge.

* Any: dùng trong câu phủ định và nghi vấn. Đứng trước cả danh từ số ít (không
đếm được) và danh từ số nhiều đếm được.

Để trả lời cho câu hỏi: How often ?

Bao lâu một lần ? Ta dùng:

a. Các trạng từ tần suất: always, usually, often, sometimes, never là các
trạng từ chỉ tần suất dùng để chỉ mức độ xảy ra của hành động.
Eg:

He sometimes goes to the movies.
She always does her homework.

b. Các cụm trạng từ: every day, every week, every month, every morning …
Eg:

Every day, I get up at six.

c. Ngoài ra còn có các trạng từ: once, twice, three times …
once a week, twice a month, three times a year …
Eg:

She goes jogging once a week.

8. Đưa ra lời đề nghị:
a.Let’s + Verb : Let’s go to the zoo.
b.What about + V-ing? :

9. Adjectives: Tính từ: Các dạng so sánh của tính từ.
a.So sánh hơn: Comparative:
* Short adjectives: S + be + adjective + er + than + Noun
Ha Noi is bigger than Hai Phong.
Nam is taller than Minh.
b.Superlative: So sánh cao nhất.

He is the tallest in his class.
Ho Chi Minh City is the biggest city in Viet Nam.
Cách đổi:

a.Many = a lot of = lots of : nhiều + danh từ đếm được số nhiều.
Eg:

Viet Nam has a lot of beautiful beaches.

b.Much = a lot of = lots of + danh từ số ít không đếm được
Eg:

Viet Nam has much / a lot of / lots of rain.

11. Some, a few, a little, a lot of : Indefinite quantifiers.
a.Some: Dùng với cả danh từ đếm được và không đếm được. Danh từ đếm được
phải ở số nhiều, danh từ không đếm được số ít
Eg:

There is some milk in the bottle.
There are some books on the table.

b.a few: một vài (rất ít) + danh từ đếm được
a few books, a few eggs …
Eg:

I have a few friends.


c.a little: một ít + danh từ không đếm được
a little water, a little sugar …
Eg:

d. a lot of = lots of : nhiều + danh từ không đếm được số ít và danh từ đếm được số

12. Imperative: Mệnh lệnh.
Thể mệnh lệnh dùng để yêu cầu sai khiến ai làm gì. Trong câu mệnh lệnh, chúng ta
không dùng chủ ngữ vì chủ ngữ được hiểu ngầm. Vì vậy câu mệnh lệnh được bắt
đầu bằng một động từ nguyên không có “to”.
Eg:

Go to the blackboard, please. (Hãy đi lên bảng)
Turn the lights off, please. (Hãy tắt đèn đi)

Chúng ta thêm “Don’t” trước động từ khi muốn diễn tả mệnh lệnh ở thể phủ định.

Eg:

Don’t pick flowers. (Đừng hái hoa)
Don’t waste water. (Đừng lãng phí nước)

13. Modal verbs: Động từ khuyết thiếu: Should and shouldn’t.
S + should

+ Verb.

S + shouldn’t + Verb

You should get up early.
You shouldn’t throw trash in the street.

14. Dimensions: kích, cỡ
a. How long is the Great Wall of China ? It is over 6.000 kilometers long.
b. How high is it ?

It is between 4 and 12 meters high.

c. How thick is it ? It is over 9 meters thick.
