I.Objectives.
-After the lesson Ss will be able to practice about the topic TV in Vietnam. And
they will discuss about the program they like best: program for teenagers, sport
show, cartoon., like + V-ing, prefer+ V-ing..........
- To drill Ss listening skills.
II. Teaching aids.
Text book, work book,tape + casstte.
III. Teaching procedure
1. Organization:

- Ask Ss to do the exercise B4 ( p89 ) in the work book.
3. Presentation:
A. Warm up.
- Ask Ss to retell the main content of the last lesson.
- Ask Ss to write the sentences using the verb : Prefer -V-ing ...to + Ving.......?
Ex: I prefer watching TV to listening to music.
B. Presentation.
-Ask Ss to look at the picture in the book and then answer the question :


What is on TV now?




Who are the main characters ?




Can you name the tittle of the cartoon ?



Do you like to watch cartoon?

- Introduce the lesson and play the tape the first time, then introduce the new
words:
- Like to do/ doing: Thích làm gì.
Sport shows: Các chương trình thể thao.

Prefer doing smt: Thích làm gì hơn
Cartoon: Chương trình phim hoạt

-Ask Ss to listen to the tape and read the dialogue twice and then work in pairs to
discuss anwering the questions.
-Share the answers to others.
-Write the answers on the BB.
-Read the answers aloud.

will know some program in English: What is on TV today ?

- Ask Ss to do the exercise B1 ( p90 ) in the work book.
3. Presentation :
A. Warm up:
- Ask Ss to look at the order of the listening and listen to the tape to write the
correct time for each program.
- Provide the meaning of new word:
A fistful of Dollars : phim đồng tiền vấy máu.
- Play the tape three times and ask Ss to write the time
-Ask Ss to give the correct answers.

b) The early news is at six.


c) The weather forecast is at ten past six.

B. Pre- reading.
Ask Ss to look at the reading and guess the topic of the lesson through the
pictures and write down the new words:

-Ask ss to read the reading and answer the questions in the book.
-Write the answers on the BB after share the answers to the partners.( work in

Nowadays, television becomes very popular. Both old and young people enjoy
watching it very much. TV programs attract millions of viewers all over the
world. In addition to the news, television stations also broadcast many interesting
programs such as sports, music, cartoons , movies, contests,........ At present,



people can enjoy a live program on TV. In our country, we often watch live TV
programs of important events and international football matches.
New words:
