8. Summary of the new findings of the thesis

8.1. New contributions in terms of academic and theories
- This is the first scientific study that has been deeply studied about aesthetic
education through popular music for students. The thesis gives the concept of popular
music, aesthetic education and aesthetic education through popular music for students.
- The thesis has identified the characteristics of popular music, aspects of "Beauty"
in music in general and popular music in particular. At the same time, the thesis has also
clarified the role of popular music for students as well as the mechanisms of popular
music's impact on the aesthetic consciousness formation of students.
- The thesis has identified the contents, methods and subjects participating in
aesthetic education through popular music for students.

8.2. New findings drawn from research and survey results
- From specific case studies, the thesis has clarified current state, achievements and
limitations, as well as the causes of the limitations in aesthetic education through
popular music for students in our country at present.
- The thesis has identified the problems posed in aesthetic education through popular
music for students; it has also forecasted the movement trends in student's aesthetic
reception needs for popular music.
- The thesis proposes some solutions to improve the quality of aesthetic education
through popular music for students in Vietnam. The groups of solutions proposed by the
thesis are practical and suggestive. It is derived from the importance of aesthetic education
as well as the role of "Beauty" in popular music as a means of aesthetic education, in
order to contribute to building the Vietnamese people to develop comprehensively, with a
scientific worldview, towards the Truth, the Goodness and the Beauty.
