<b>I. Objective: </b>


<b>1. Language focus:</b>


- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and say the three Gg
words correctly, do the actions, read the story and practise the sound of the letter Gg
and the coresponding words.


<i>Vocabulary: gorilla.</i>
<b>2. Skill: </b>


- Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
<b>3. Attitude:</b>


- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.
<b>II. Teaching aids: </b>


- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, soft ware.
<b>III. Method:</b>


- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.

<b>2. Warm up (5’) </b>


- T divides students in 3 groups of glass, goat and garden.
- T plays the chant in Lesson 1.


- Each group mimes the corresponding actions.
3. New lesson.

- T encourage Ss to point to the picture of the
word that the teacher says.


- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the story
once.


- Play the CD again. Ss listen and point to the
pictures of the key words when they hear them in
the story.


- T read the story. Ss follow their books.


- T reads the printed words then let Ss look at the
pictures and say the words.


- T asks Ss work in pairs. One reads while the


other checks, then they change roles. Or one
reads the printed words while the other looks at
the pictures and says the words.

<i><b>Activity: Say the Sight Words</b></i>


- T point to and say the sight words: look, at, the,
<i>in, my.</i>


- Ss repeat


- T calls Ss to read them aloud.


<i><b>Activity 2. Circle the letters Gg. Say the g </b></i>
<i><b>sound </b><b>(10')</b></i>


- Point to the letters and revise the g sound
- T ask Ss to look at the pictures and circle the
letters Gg.


- T go around for helping.
<i><b>Activity: Thumbs Up or Down </b></i>


- Number the apples in exercise 6 from one to
six.


- T asks Ss to put their thumbs up if the apple has
Gg in it and put their thumbs down if the glass
does not have Gg in it.



e.g. Teacher: (point to the glass number one in
the book) Glass number one. Up or Down?
Class: (putting their thumbs up)


T: Good! And garden number two? Up or Down?
<i><b>Activitiy 7. Listen, point and repeat. Colour the </b></i>
<i><b>pictures of the words that start with the g </b></i>


<i><b>sound. Say the g word </b><b> (10’)</b></i>


- T shows Ss the acrobat phonics card. Point to it
and say: gorilla. Ask them to repeat.


- Mime trying to keep balance and say: acrobat.
Encourage Ss to do the same


- T point to the pictures, Ss do the corresponding
actions and say the words.


- T asks Ss to colour the pictures of the words
that start with the a sound.


<i><b>Activity: Craftwork</b></i>


- T asks Ss to take out their notebooks.


- Ss choose one word then draw the letter and the
picture in their notebooks.


- T tell them to colour the letter and the picture.
