I. Clause after “Wish”.
1. “Wish” at present and future.
a.Form : S1 + wish(s,es) + S2 + QKĐ(tobe → were)
Can → Could + V(o chia)
Will → Would + V(o chia)
b.Eg : I wish I were a good student.
<i> She wishes she had a new schoolbag.</i>
They wish they lived in Paris.
<i> He wishes that he could speak English better.</i>
<i> Ba wishes he would/could visit Da Lat someday.</i>
Note : S + wish = If only …………
<i><b> We wish we were in Cua Lo now = If only we were in Cua Lo now.</b></i>
c. Use : - I’m sorry/ What a pity!/ It’s a pity.
→ S + wish ………..
II. The conditional sentence.
1. Type 1.
a. Form : If-clause(m/đ điều kện), Main clause (m/đ chính)
S1 + V(s,es)/is,am,are S2 + will/can/may + V(o chia) ….
<i><b>b. Eg : If it is fine today, We will have a picnic.= We’ll have a picnic if it’s …..</b></i>
<i><b> If you study hard, you will pass the next exam.</b></i>
<i><b> If she gets up late, she will be late for school.</b></i>
c. Use : - Unless = If …. Not
Eg : If it doesn’t rain, I will go fishing.
= Unless it rains, I will go fishing.
2. Type 2.
a. Form : If-clause(m/đ điều kện), Main clause (m/đ chính)
<i><b> QKĐ TL in QK</b></i>
S1 + V(ed/2)/were S2 + would/could/should/might+ V(o chia) ….
b. Eg : If it were Sunday today, I wouldn’t have to go to school.
If I were you, I could help her.
If she knew his number, she would phone him at once.
If they lived here, we might know them.

Can,could/ may,might/ should,would,ought to/ must/ used to + V(o chia)
Let’s + V(o chia)
Would like/ would love + to V
To get/be used to + V-ing # Used to + V(o chia)
