PART I:

INTRODUCTION

Vietnam nowadays, together with the strongly development of market economy
and international integration trend, is facing many opportunities as well as challenges.
Especially, Vietnam’s integration into World Trade Organization (WTO) has created
many chances to exchange and cooperate with many international friends. This has
been giving Vietnam a fast economic growth speed with many leading-edge industries
such as: electronics industry, chemical industry, tourism, etc. In the field of tourism,
Vietnam has planned and deployed many projects in order to strengthen tourism
industry. Lots of companies and organizations of tourism have been founded; many
new and beautiful sight-seeings have been discovered and embellished. This has been

bringing to Vietnam a lot of benefit as well as creating more jobs for Vietnamese
people. English from the past has become an international language and nowadays it

becomes more and more popular in all fields of social life. In Vietnam, English is
considered as an important and necessary condition to get a good job. Especially, in
tourism English is used a lot. Tourist staffs are considered as representative, bridge,
picture to the international friends. With such an importance, tourism section always
needs their staffs to have good foreign language. I have been trained to be a tour-guide
in the near future. However, to become a good tour-guide is not easy if we do not have
knowledge and practice a lot. Thus, we must get ourselves as many chances to practice
as possible. All of above reasons have inspired me to choose Truong Son Tourist
Company to study and practice.

1. Establishment and Development History
Travel Center is an agency under a member limited company – COECCO
Truong Son Tourist, was established and officially operated since April 2005. It
undertakes business in travel activities: organization of domestic and international
tours, travel advisory services, passenger transportation services and tourist guide
services.... Travel Center is under the supervision of the Company in terms of
organizational management, business. It complies with the center’s private regulation
issued early this year. Promulgating the regulations is to define management, rights
and responsibilities of each department and member, as well as the regulation
implementation of Travel Centre, of COECCO Tourist Company and of Vietnam Law.

CHAPTER 2:

PRACTICE PROCESS

1. My Activities
I have been trained about tourism by my teacher of Foreign Language
Department at Vinh University, now I have an opportunity to practice as a tour guide at
Truong Son International and Domestic Travel Centre from February 24 to April 12.
During the practice process, I was assigned a lot of tasks as follows:
Every Monday I go to the company to receive my list of tasks in the week. The
list includes the plan of the company and the work we have to do in each day of the
week. Then, I make myself plan to do the tasks. I try my best to complete all the tasks.
Besides, I also do some work such as: translating tour programs from Vietnamese into
