into real life at Vinh Long Translation Co., Ltd. as well as capability of student when working
there with the hope to improve translation skills for student after graduation from vinh

PART I INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, English has been becoming more and more popular all over the world. It’s
considered as an international language. To Vietnamese, English is too familiar to everyone, as
well as all the ages. Besides, English has become a compulsory subject in almost schools in Viet
Nam . therefore, learning English and using it in many aspect is very important
English is the language of international communication. It is the language of international
business, research and science .more than three- forth of the world mail is written in English
.more than three- fifth of the world radio station use English .more than haft of sciencetific and
research journals are in English. Not all people over the world can read all language, so it is very
important to translate it for people easy to understand. Translation also helps us so much in
working
Up to now, many companies and organization have tried their best in translating and
improving translation skills documents .one of them are Vinh Long translation company in Vinh
city , Nghe an province. With all of reasons above I chose to study and experience at Truong Son
Tourist Company for my practice progress.

- Function: is the leader of VINH LONG TRANSLATION CO., LTD, takes legal

b. Accountant
- Function:
An accountant is responsible for the higher function of designing where necessary, improving or
modifying the system of accounts.
- Duty:
Accountant supervise and coordinates the work of the book keeper, staff, writes up more
important private and impersonal accounts and prepares the annual profit and loss accounts and
balance sheet.

CHAPTER II: PRACTICE PROCESS
1. My activities
After received some knowledge about translation from my teacher, ( Mr Tran Ngoc Tuong
and Mirs Nguyen Lan Phuong

I have chance

to practice as translator at VINH LONG

TRANSLATION CO., LTD from March 20 to April 10.On the first week of working there I
received some documents about establishment and development history of the company as well
as to be familiar to working environment their. After that I was assigned a lot of tasks such as:
translate documents of customers from Vietnamese into English and vice versa, send and received

email, fax for the company.
2. Experiences
After the practice process, I have summarized some precious experiences.
Firstly, I know more about translation job and how we do to become a good translator .As
you know, translation is not an easy job as we think. It needs many skills. After working there I
summarize some precious experiences as a translator in my practice report.
Secondly , I worked in an active and professional environment so I learn working style
there , it is different from university I can send and receive fax fluently as well as working under
pleasure which help me to work in the future .
Thirdly , The company also provide professional translation services in a variety of
fields such as economics, techniques, medicine, cuisine, tender projects … and particularly,
lawfully notarized translation of commercial contracts and overseas study documents so it help
me enrich my vocabulary .
Although know that translation in variety of field s is not easy but it will help me
understand that before translating a document we must understand the main contents of it , don’t
use all words in the root document . .
Lastly, I want to mention that translator require patience ,active, and have good memory
because when working we need a lot of skills to fulfill work, moreover passion for the profession,
reading and learning vocabulary are traits that make you close with translator career longer .,as
you know that I can apply my theory into practice. I had many chances to contact with
knowledge about translation we can see that practicing at company is good for every student

3. Problems

When I practice at the Vinh Long Translation CD., Ltd although I tried my best I
encountered some problems. My knowledge can not satisfy requirement of translator job.
Translation job requires a lot of standards to become a good translator. As you know translation
practice is very different with theory when I studied in university it include contents, style, form
with variety of fields. First time I field embarrassed to translate . Moreover before practice at the
company my knowledge of vocabulary is still poor So when I practice at any company, I do not
have enough expertise to take over that work. That requires me to have time learn work.
However, in fact my practice time is not long for me to learn professional work assigned at the
company.
4. Suggestions
From the problems I encountered during my practice process, to improve effect of
teaching and learning, I want to give some suggestions to foreign language department as
following:
When contact with new environmental working student fell embarrassed and not still active so
it’s necessary for us to find some solution for these problems
- Vocabulary is very important so teachers should help students to find solution in
learning vocabulary, especially in variety of fields such as economics, society, law,
- advise student find suitable method for translation such as reading newspaper on
internet as Vietnam news, and watching foreign channel such as CNN, BBC, channel
- Link with companies for students to cooperate and work part time at the companies
- Link with companies to organize programs to find young talent in the future
- Prolong time of practice longer.

PART III CONCLUSION

In general, the time of practice brings us a lot of benefits. Through it we do not only learn
more knowledge but also experience the work and life. By doing a lot of activities at the
company we gradually improve our knowledge and grow up more. Together with the help of the
company’s members as well as my effort, I have completed my practice process. In the time of
practice I had got some problems; however, I tried my best to overcome them. In addition, from
those difficulties I have more experiences for my future job as well as for other work in my life.
Through practice time I find that the university should combine with the companies to help
students practice well. Besides, we should look for help from other people if we need. In the
practice process, we should take any chances to practice guiding tours directly. “It is the first step
that costs”; nevertheless, with our resolution, I think, we can get over everything.
