- Teacher: “ While we have a life of comfort,
Many people must live poorly, difficult. They
don’t have a house to comeback after a hard
working day so they are campel to accept cold
weather, miserable life. Even if they become a
beggar to have money. To understand their
sufferings, we tell the story : “The beggar”
-Teacher: Show the picture for class.
-Ask:
“what do you see in this picture?”
“why do you think that? What do you do when
you see a beggar in the street? What do you
say when you don’t have anything for them?”
In the story today, the character is also in the
same situation like that?
teacher told the whole story: slowly,
expressive, distinguish voice of characters.
-Picture 1: I was walking along the street… I
was stopped by a decrepit old beggar.
Bloodshot, tearful eyes, blue lips, coarse rags,
festering wounds…. Oh, how hideously

-Picture 2: I began feeling in all my

with me. And the beggar was still
waiting… and his outstretched hand
feebly shook and trembled.
-Picture 3: Confused, abashed, I
warmly clasped the filthy, shaking
hand… 'Don't be
angry, brother; I have nothing,
brother.'
-Picture 4: The beggar stared at me with
his bloodshot eyes; his blue lips smiled; and
he in his turn gripped my chilly fingers.
'What of it, brother?' he mumbled; 'thanks for
this, too. That is a gift too, brother.' I knew
that I too had received a gift from my brother.
