UNIT 15: COMPUTERS
Lesson 4: Write

I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Aim: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to write an instruction on
how to use a printer using the pictures and the given words.
- Standard: write the instruction using the pictures and the given words.
- Higher: Ask and answer the questions about the instruction.
2. Knowledge:
+ Vocabulary: flash (v); screen (n); power (n); remove (v); load (v); input
tray (n); click (v).
+ Structures: Format of an instruction
3. Skills: Reading and writing.
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher: Lesson plan, text book, pictures.
2. Students:
+ Vocabulary: flash (v); screen (n); power (n); remove (v); load (v); input
tray (n); click (v).
+ Structures: Format of an instruction
III. PPROCEDURE:
1. Check up: (5’)
- Ask Ss to to go to the board and write the vocabulary of last lesson then
answer some questions about the text.
2. New lesson:

I. Pre-writing: Introduce the topic of the writing and

II. While -writing: (15’)
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures / 143 and read the cues.
- Have Ss work in pairs to outline the instructions.
- Call on some Ss to say out the instructions first (1 or 2
Ss for each sentence)
- Ask Ss to write the instructions in their note books.
III. Post - writing: (10’)

- Have some Ss read their writings before the class.
- Give feedback and correct.
*Suggested writing:
Plug in the printer and turn on the power.
Remove the old paper and load the new paper in the
paper input tray.
Wait for the power button to flash.
Have the pages appear on the computer screen.
Click the printer icon on the screen and wait for a few
seconds.
The printed paper will come out of the output tray path in
a minute.

- Read the cues.
- Work in pairs.
- Say out the instructions
first.
- Work individually.
- Read aloud their
writings before the class.
- Listen to teacher and
correct their mistakes.

IV. HOMEWORK:
- Learn by heart all the vocabulary of the lesson.
- Rewrite the instructions to use a printer in notebook and do exercise 7 in
workbook.
- Prepare for next lesson: Language focus of Unit 16.
