- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and pronounce the
letter Nn and its sound correctly.
- Understand, recognize and say the three Nn words.
- Write the letter Nn.
- Vocabulary: nut, net, nest
<i>- Sight words: look</i>
<b>2. Skill: </b>
- Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
<b>3. Attitude:</b>
- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.
<b>II. Teaching aids: </b>
- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant.
<b>III. Method:</b>
- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.
- Some techniques can be used: music chairs.
<b>IV. Procedures:</b>

<b>2. Warm up (5’) </b>
- T review and let’s Ss to read aloud the letter from A to M.
- Ss read aloud and T monitors and corect their mistake.

to pronounce the words beginning with Nn.

the new lesson.
- Ask Ss how to pronouce the letter name and
the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter
Nn /en/. The letter N makes the /n/ sound.
- Ss listen and repeat.
<b>1. Listen, point, repeat. Colour.</b>
<i>a. Vocab</i>
- T ask Ss to repeat several times, check Ss’s
pronunciation (letter Nn /en/ and its sound.
- Ss work in group.
- Ss work individually.
- Ss look the cards and repeat.
- T use gestures (hand actions) to help Ss to
understand the meanings of the three words.
- Ss check the meaning and repeat.
- T check Ss’s understanding. T says the
words, all Ss do actions and vice versa.
- T call some Ss to say the words out loud and
correct their mistakes.
- Ss remember the cards.
<b>*Activity: Memory game (5’)</b>
- T put the phonics cards of Nut, Net, Nest,
<i><b>Nn on the board. </b></i>
- T ask Ss to memorise the order of these
- T ask Ss to close their eyes, remove one
phonics card radmly and ask individual ss to
name it.
- Continue changing the other cards.
- Ss close their eyes and name the card in
order.
- T remember to correct student’s
pronunciation throughout the lesson.
<b>Activity 2. Listen and point. Colour (8’)</b>
- T ask Ss to look at the books and listen to the
words Look! A nut , Look! A net, Look! A nest.
- Ss read aloud.
- T use gestures (hand actions ) to help Ss to
understanding the meaning of command.
- T ask Ss to repeat by using the phonics cards
of Look! A nut , Look! A net, Look! A nest
combining with gestures.
- Ss listen and repeat.
- T ask Ss to colour the nut , net, nest.
using any colour they like.
- T goes round the classroom ,asking Ss to
- Ss colouring.
- T monitors and correct their mistake.
<i><b>*Activitiy: Pass the phonic card (4’)</b></i>
- T using the phonic cards of Nn, nut, net, nest
and line up the Ss into 2 teams.
<b>Play Game</b>
- T give the first Ss of each team a phonics
card and say “go.”
- Ss work in groups.
- Ss say the coresponding words and pass the
phonics card over their head to the Ss behind
them.
- Next, those Ss repeat the words and pass the
phonics card between their legs to the Ss
behind them.
- Continue to pass the phonic card over their
head and between their legs to the last Ss.
- The last Ss in each team give the card to
teacher and say the word correctly. They will
get one point.
- Which team has the most point will be
winner. Continue the game as many times as
necessary.
<i><b>Activity 3. Chant and show (5’) </b></i>
- T put up the lyris of the chant on the board.
- Without music, use the phonics card and step
Ss to sing the chant with Nut. Do the same
with net and nest.
- Ss listen and chant.
- With music, the whole class sing the whole
chant. Do the chant again using gestures for
eacg word.
- T give feedback.
- T ask Ss to write the chant in to note book.
- Ss write the chant in their notebook.
- T ask Ss to do excersise in the work book.
- Ss do excersise in the work book.

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing.

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.

- Put up the nut, net, nest phonics card on board.

- T play the CD. Ask Ss to listen and sing.
- Ask Ss to take out the nut, net, nest picture
cards and put them on the desk.
- Ss close the eyes and take away a card.
- Play the CD and ask Ss listen and hold up the
corresponding card.
- Say the card missing.

- Put the card up on the table and give ss a minute
to look at them and ask ss close their eyes and
take away a card.
- Ss open their eyes and name the card missing.
